Winning in Life

During last monsoon I met one of my old friends Ninad. He was very keen to learn. Very enthusiastic and inquisitive. A proflic writer. So I decided to meet him at the Coffee Cafe Day. He had lots of questions in his mind. As I started sipping Cappuchino, I could see in his curious eyes, that he expected answers from me on success, failure, life, behaviour of people, my own struggle etc., He kept noting down all along and one fine day he called and said Sir, I have started writing a book and I have mailed you the first page. Following is the verbatim mail from Ninad:

"Bharat has always been a busy man, more so ever it would be appropriate if I put it this way – that he chooses to be involved purposefully and in being full of activity as that keeps him looking forward to each moment of life. And for him each moment is always waiting to be filled with achievement. There is a secret that keeps him going. And that is he has never really worried about results. He immerses himself in the process. Results,- well, they follow! They follow not in the end but at every step of the process.

I had to ask this to him, I was curious. And then again for the course of developing this book I needed to know, what are the central principles that guide, that make this vigorous man’s life what it is today? So we caught up in a nearby coffee shop. He looked relaxed and that eased me a bit. One can imagine, if ever a person like him sat in front of you, you really can’t be spared from his highly optimistic infectious energy. You will carry some home!

Outside the city welcomed its first wet showers as we sipped on the cappuccino and on that refreshing Saturday afternoon our first conversation about winning in life began.

Like I said, I was curious and so I asked him. He took a moment to absorb and then he spoke. I really never knew how those two hours passed by. I looked outside from the window pane set next to our table. Nothing much was happening. It all seemed constant. But inside me, I could feel a lot had begun to change. Something really began to make sense. I was suddenly feeling free, free of responsibility, free of emotional pressures, in charge of this moment of life, of my next step. Everything seemed possible. Yes it had everything to do with what Bharat had shared with me, taught me. And it were these principles that he spoke about.

Well, Ninad's writing on the wall is quite interesting and has given me way to put it up on the blog. I will keep writing on the above thoughts as we go along. My converstaions with Ninad and so on. Till then Bye......
